This is the December 11 assignment from the Holidays in Hand class I took from Jessica Sprague.
When we recall Christmas past, we usually find that the simplest things - not the great occasions - give off the greatest glow of happiness. ~ Bob Hope
Love that quote from Bob Hope. Today, I'm supposed to write about plans I have for a holiday party this year. Due to Brad's schedule during December, we rarely attend holiday parties. The only "holiday" party we have this year is our Care Group Christmas party (which we always do after Christmas) . We'll have a potluck dinner with friends and probably do a "Dirty Santa" gift exchange. (party was rescheduled, Brad has a conflict and since it's the only holiday thing we do together, I'm not going to go alone) When it comes to holiday parties, we are the height of boring.
The photo today is supposed to be of holiday clothing but my kids won't wear their holiday outfits until next Sunday (12/20). I'll take a picture of that then - and use it on this day when I scrap it.
Our "do" today is to eat real sugar peppermint sticks that my friend, John, brought the kids. They love peppermint sticks and these are incredible!! Real sugar...no HFCS here! Mmmmm. They are so good.
We're going to make Daddy's sugar cookies tonight. Can't wait. Love sugar cookies. We're also probably going to make a birthday {cup}cake for Ms. Kim since her birthday is tomorrow! Fun stuff in the kitchen!!!
Recall a holiday party from the past. Wow, there are so many. One from 7th grade, though, comes immediately to mind. My friend, Sissi, had a Christmas party at her house and it was my first boy-girl party. I think it was there that I developed a huge crush that I carried through high school and into college. Seriously.
