Nin was being her typical frenetic little self and she ran from the backyard into the bathroom. As she ran into the bathroom she tripped and fell, hitting her head on the Disney Princess step stool. I was in their room changing the bed linens and I heard her crying. She is constantly running and falling, so I admit I was prepared to be less than compassionate when she came into the bedroom, "Mommy, I fell." I turned to face her, only to see blood literally streaming down her head, dripping off her chin onto her clothes, her legs and her feet. I tried to not freak her out as I scooped her up and carried her to the bathroom to access the damage. I was able to determine that we were going to need medical attention on the wound. As she cried, she was spraying blood all over both of us (she'd also bitten the inside of her cheek). We went into the pediatrician's office a couple of hours later (the bleeding completely stopped) and they glued it up. The ped we saw was so kind and loving to Nin. And she barely let out a peep. It wasn't until she had glue in the laceration and it stung a little that she let out any tears in his office. He blew on her head, fanned it and told her how brave and how beautiful she was. She, in turn, stopped crying and bestowed on him one of her beaming smiles. He looked at me and said, "She really is a beautiful little girl." Yes, she is. And so tonight I've been all over her - stop. running. in. the. house!!!! You'd never know she fell and busted her head. I'm just thankful that she didn't lose consciousness or have a concussion (the ped checked inside her ears just to be sure there was no signs of a more serious head injury). I'm also thankful that the pediatrician was willing to glue the wound rather than stitch it. I'm thankful that he was kind to my little wild woman. And on a totally superficial note, I'm glad we'd already had our family portraits taken!

Awww, brave little girl!
Aww, poor baby! I'm glad it didn't require stitches & I hope the glue does it's job. I'm waiting on the day when we'll need stitches, lol. Olivia knows no boundaries, her legs look awful! lol
Poor little girl. I wish they would use that glue here. They always end up giving the kids stitches
Sweet girl - what a sad little picture.
