Friday was a good day

For starters, Harrison went to sleep before 10:00 on Thursday night and slept until 7:30 Friday morning. Do I need to tell you how much pain I was in when I woke up?!

My Mother's Helper was here Friday and oh, how wonderful! The girls started asking the night before "When will Natalie be here?" Katherine woke me Friday morning and that was the first thing she said to me. Not, "Good morning, Mommy" not even, "I want some coffee" but..."What time will 'Natayee' be here?" As each child woke, they asked about Natalie. Allison and Natalie knocked on the door just a couple of minutes after 9 and all three of the girls ran to the door squealing Natalie's name. I'm so glad they love her! Natalie brought some dress-up clothes and also the Angelina Ballerina Dancing game that my girls love to play. Harrison actually took a nap (hallelujah!) so after taking pictures of my budding ballerinas in their dress-up clothes (Annie was too stinkin' cute!) I actually got to work on some of the piles in the family room. That's code for "all this laundry that's piled up waiting for some attention and a hot iron". ;)

After some playtime with Natalie, they had a snack - fresh-baked snickerdoodles and Nin ate hers this time - and then we loaded up for a quick trip to the library. The best word I can come up with to describe Nin, and I've used it recently, is frenetic. She's the same way in choosing books at the library. She grabs as many as she can off the shelves. Does she care that one of the books she got was Calliou in Spanish? (wonder if his whining sounds any less annoying in another language; I doubt it.) We signed up for the summer reading program and headed back home to prepare lunch.

Of course at lunchtime, Harrison got fussy. But, I was able to hand him off to Natalie and she kept him quite content until I could get the girls' lunches ready. Poor little guy usually screams the entire time I'm preparing lunches. By then, Allison was back to get Natalie and the morning was already over! We look forward to Natalie coming back!! It'll be such a fun summer for the girls and I hope it will be for Natalie as well.

I need a helper....Natalie sounds wonderful!

I was just thinking today, as I cut up Andrew's sandwhich, how different things are, already, .... The days where I had to wear him in a Bjorn during meals to keep him from screaming (he would sleep in the Bjorn....he was a sleepy kid)....now he sits happily in his booster seat eating pretty much the same food the 3 big kids get....however, he still naps on me during the day (he won't let me put him down, anywhere, he just screams till I hold him and then he falls fast asleep, and I'm not complaining) ;)

Time flies.

Anyway, the photo of your three girls is soooo beautiful! I loved seeing it.

How sweet this pictures are! Natalie had a great time helping you and was thrilled with the $10. I think she saw a little bit about working and making money. She went home and put it in her bank. Thanks so much Gina!

Very cool! I hope Harrison has continued to sleep that well. I think it's great that you have Natalie.
