Harrison at 4-months

I didn't get my paper from the nurse listing his weight and length. I do know that he's 11 pounds 11 ounces (3rd percentile) and that his head is 15-3/4 inches (10th percentile) and that he's 25th percentile for length but not sure how long he is - I didn't see her write that down.

He's meeting all his milestones - laughing aloud, reaching for toys, holding a toy in his hand, pushing up on his arms, bearing weight on his legs, rolling one way (he rolls both tummy to back and back to tummy). AND the flirted like crazy with Dr. F - so stinking cute. He "talked" the entire time she was trying to listen to his heart and chest.

Back of his head is a little flat on the right side and she wants to continue to watch it. If it becomes more pronounced she'll send us to the cranio-facial clinic for evaluation. I told her I'd compared pictures of him and Brad and they both have a funky shaped head - he just takes after his daddy. ;) If he still has a flat spot at our next visit, she may order skull films to make sure his skull isn't fusing too quickly.

I asked about his right pupil - it is noticeably larger than his left in normal room light or low-light situations (not so much in sunlight). She looked him over carefully, used an ophthalmoscope to check his eyes and said that he has a condition called "congenital anisocoria" - one pupil is just larger than the other, no big whoop (to quote Linda Richman from Coffee Talk). She said it is completely benign but we did need to remember this if he ever has a head injury that lands us in the ER since significant head trauma can cause one pupil to be larger than the other - we'd need to let doctors know so they won't start doing CT scans and stuff over an insignificant congenital thing.

I think that's all for today. :)

I'm glad he's growing so well. He's a cutie!

We just had a 1yo in our house for a couple days. I almost forgot how much fun they are
