Top Ten {Tuesday} - Birthday Wish List

Top Ten {Tuesday}

Here we are again! Time for another Top Ten {Tuesday} post. And since my birthday is in just under a month...it's time for my annual birthday wish list. I did it last year as a Facebook note - mainly because it was the middle of the night and I was feeling silly.  Usually the only people who see my birthday wish list are my mom and sister - because they ask for it.  Now, I just throw it out there for everyone with the understanding that it is a wish list, people!  Get it?  Okay, here we go.  Oh, and let me say at the outset, these are not affiliate links.
  1. Let's start with the biggest wish of them all:  This house with the finished "future rec room" above the garage - because we'd use that for school and as a playroom. I have loved this house plan since I first saw it in Southern Living sometime in the '90s. Wish list, people, remember?
  2. This toile bedding from Pottery Barn. I have always loved toile. Always. Even before toile was cool. And for the record, I've always loved damask, too.  And matelasse.  Just for the record.  Because I want you to understand, I don't follow these textile trends, I set them. Just sayin'.
  3. A new dining table, 4 chairs and bench.  The table is a surfboard shape. It has storage under it.  It is counter top height. It is perfect for homeschooling the children and not breaking my back. I wish I could link you to it, but the store is currently redoing their website. (remember...wish. list.  Wish list!)
  4. Cuisinart 7-Quart, 12-speed, 1200-watt stand mixer  Now that we've dropped down from a $300K house and $1,000 worth of dining room furniture and $500 worth of bedding,  this $350 mixer doesn't look so bad, does it?   My parents have this mixer.  Daddy uses it to mix his bread.  I borrow it when I need to make marshmallows (remember that post? I linked to it last week, too. Just in case you don't...here it is again).  Daddy got a killer deal on theirs when Linens 'n Things was going out of business. I have serious mixer envy when I see theirs.
  5. The gumption to use the saffron and vanilla beans I got last year!  I've used the cardamom in making wonderful pancakes and French toast.  But I can't bring myself to use my precious saffron or vanilla beans. What do you mean you can't give me "gumption"?  Why not?
  6. This Pinot Noir.  Do I need to tell you how hard I'm laughing?!  It is sheer perfection that they named my favorite wine after me!!!  Goody Two-Shoes.  I love it.  Oh...hush!
  7. You know I love all things paper, right?  Almost all of the Bo Bunny new releases from CHA this summer make me get all giddy.  Olivia is probably my least favorite and Learning Curve my most favorite (homeschooler, you know).  And Scrapbook Corner probably has most, if not all, of it.
  8. Any of Steve Tyrell's CDs that I don't already have.  What do I not have, you ask?  Back to Bacharach  I mean, really.  Steve Tyrell singing Burt Bacharach? {swoon} This Guy's In Love.  Those are the only two!  Wow. I didn't know I owned all but two of his CDs.  I knew I liked his stuff...
  9. I would love to have new casual dining dishes.  I've had my eye on Mikasa Italian Countryside for years.  Like...since it first came out in the 90s. (this actually belongs up there with the big-ticket wish-list items).  So, how about some plain, white bath towels, hand towels and wash cloths? I'm wanting to convert to all white, all the same style - so it doesn't matter which bathroom it gets put into - it's all the same.
  10. And...a 36-oz jar of Archer Farms Monster Trail Mix from Target. The link is for the 16-oz bag.  But Target has the 36-oz jar of this yummy stuff on sale this week for $6.29.  :)

    Lady, you and I should be friends! LOVE-ING the house plan, toile bedding is to DIE for, stand mixer is my MUST have, use the saffron in paella and the vanilla bean to make ice cream, you'll LOVE them both, the Pinot, you can get it at the Target (your welcome!), paper, SWOON!, Steve Tyrell is my boyfriend (yes, my husband knows!), bought myself Italian Countryside a couple of years ago and I L.O.V.E., bath towels are being converted as we speak and I haven't tried the trail mix, but I just might have to now that you've suggested it!!
    PS: I usually do Top Ten at Ohamandas, but have taken some time off, but still like to stop by and see who's new!! Great list!

    The biggest thing on my wish list that I doubt I'll ever get is an exercise pool in my basement. But a girl can dream...

    I find it amusing that you posted this :) I was thinking the other night "how am I going to find out what to get Gina for her birthday, without asking?" Could I give you gumption to use the vanilla bean and the saffron if I make it a tradition to give it to you for your birthday? That would be years of presents :)
