I Never Saw a Purple Cow

This week the preschool preparatory curriculum is brought to you by the letter A, the number 1, a square and cows.  Cows are the theme of the week.  The preparatory curriculum doesn't have the theme match the sound of the letter - that happens next year  (we'll do it if Harrison doesn't go to Trinity).

I use these cow coloring pages from DLTK's Coloring website.  The letter A, number 1 and square coloring pages come from Coloring Castle.  We read Ferdinand instead of any of the books on the list.

Harrison and Annie's favorite cow coloring picture from the above is this one.   While the kids are coloring, I recite the nursery rhyme of the week (Hey Diddle, Diddle) and sing one of the songs.  I've also been reciting "Purple Cow" - which Annie thinks is hilarious since Purple Cow is her favorite restaurant...which reminds me I could totally go for a Triple Treat Chocolate Malt (malt made with chocolate ice cream, chocolate syrup, topped with white chocolate shavings) and a Grilled Jean and Jack (grilled ham and cheese) or Turkey Reuben, but I digress.

Here's a shot of Harrison's cow made out of squares.  This was fun!  And he loved using a glue stick!! Yes, he had help - Elizabeth - which explains why his cow is soooo neat!  We're taking a break today to get big sisters ready to go to Chattanooga for the weekend (well, one for the weekend and another for two weeks).
