Spare me, please don't ask

I've been asked by more than one person what I'll be getting for Mother's Day. Without batting an eyelash I can tell you that I will get only what Elizabeth and Katherine have made for me at school. The only cards I get will be ones that their teachers made for me. The only gifts I receive will be the gifts they've made for me in class. Apparently the only people who appreciate the fact that I am a mother to my children are their teachers. I've learned the hard way.

Well, FWIW, I think that totally sucks and I think you should order YOURSELF something for Mother's Day! (((Hugs)))

Do what I do: go buy something for yourself and tell your husband thank you for your Mother's Day present. :)

Every year I hope for something from my hubby but it's always just the teachers here too...oh and if the kiddies pick me some flowers from the garden (which I really appreciate)

I'm with ya! I'll get whatever Emily made in school. And I have to make my own breakfast. My Mom will be with me this year, I'm making her breakfast, I'm OK with that, though. However, I am buying myself some yarn this weekend, lol.

I got the "your not my mother" comment from my DH a few years ago. So yesterday, I treated myself to lots of makeup at Sephora and today I'm getting a pedicure at lunch. Happy Mother's day to me! I hope you can do something simlar for yourself!

Sounds familiar! While my children were young it was the same at my house. My children are grown now. My daughter is cooking dinner for DH & me, my son and my daughter-in-law. My kids get my some awesome gifts but I have hard time getting what I want most - some new photos of them. Go figure ;)

I got the 'you're not my mother' comment every year too. This year I told him that every other hubby celebrates the mother of their children so don't you dare tell him any different.

I hope you bought yourself something nice!

((Hugs))
