Oh! I am so excited!!

When Elizabeth was born, my sister had her digital camera at the hospital. She took a lot of great photos that day; including one of the 15 or so people lined up in the hallway outside my LDR room as I attempted to push Elizabeth into the world and one of me as they wheeled me to the OR. At the time, she wasn't sure how to download the pictures to her computer; but she had the memory sticks in her camera case so we could take care of it later. Our schedules didn't jive so we didn't get it done right away - we'll get to it later, no big deal. Cut to May 2003 and "field day" at my nephews' school. My sister took the camera to the school to take photos. She set the camera case on a bench on the playground while she took pictures and when she turned to get it, the case was gone. She was devastated that she'd lost those memory sticks. She called the school every day for weeks afterward to see if someone had turned in the lost case. "No, we don't have it." I think they finally told her to give it up.

Cut to early May of this year. My nephews no longer go to that school, and haven't since 2003. The school has a Technology Director now and she needed a case for her camera. She said, "Hey, there's one in the corner of the office that no one has ever used or claimed. I'll use it." She opened it and discovered it had memory sticks in it. She carried them to the office, loaded them on a PC and said, "Does anyone know these people?" One of the secretaries said, "Oh! Yes! Those are the [last name] kids." Technology Director said, "Well, apparently this is their camera case." So, they called my sister and left her a message that they had her camera case! And not only that - the memory sticks are still in the case, still good and have the pictures from my baby's birth day on them! I can't wait to see them. Of course, I'm sure I'll share.
