General stuff and observations

I am so selfish and self-absorbed - it's no wonder that we're told in the Bible to love our neighbors as ourselves. I am definitely a lover of self. I need to start thinking of others as more important than myself and I need to make this a habit. I've got to put off the selfishness and pride and put on humility and service!

My parents have had their house on the market for a week; they listed it last Monday. They accepted an offer today and they have to be out on May 15, provided all goes like the buyers are expecting with the sale of their home. My first thought wasn't "How cool that your house sold so quickly! Congratulations!" My first thought was, "We're supposed to have Katherine's birthday party out there on May 10...so what am I supposed to do now????" (It's all about me, you know). Thankfully, I did finally get a grip and congratulate my mom on the sale of her house. And now I'm on the hunt for a place for Nin's birthday party. :) Mom told me she'd pay for wherever we choose to have it. I am looking at (a) The Little Gym and (b) our church gym ...whoops, I mean...activity center (it's basically a gym but we don't call it that for reasons I've never understood).

Nin wants to have a sunshine party. She wants a yellow sun cake with sparkles. Easy enough - ice a round cake yellow and sprinkle it with edible glitter, put orange fondant triangles on the cake stand and place the cake on it. I can handle that! :) Once we know where we're having it, then Nin and I will work on invitations. She wants to help. I'm thinking about having her draw a sun and then scanning it to put at the top of each invite. Of course, if we end up doing TLG then I think they do the invites.

Polly Pocket needs to go barefoot. Her shoes are entirely too small. Entirely.

Hey-

You might also try JumpZone.. Parker has had several parties there... And one family even rented out the football stadium and they had the party in the locker room and got to play on the field... Not sure how much the latter cost.. didn't know them well enough to ask... LOL!!! And the Zoo also rents out the "lion house" for birthday parties as well... Just a few ideas for you... Hope you don't mind my checking in...

Henry had an AWESOME party at TLG, different location of course, but I'm sure a lot of it is the same. Anyway, lucky you to have a "location" type birthday party without the bill! And LMAO about Polly Pocket...IMHO she needs to just go nude b/c all the clothes are too small, too. ;)
