Ch-ch-ch-changes

Just shy of three years ago I started the job I have now. Over the past three years I've had some good times, some great times and some pretty bad times - typical of any job, I guess. Over the past year I've gone from working part-time to working full-time for this company. I have enjoyed it for the most part (again, it's a job - some days good, some days not so). Next Monday, March 31, will be my last day with them. While off on maternity leave with Harrison, I realized it was time for me to leave. I have a new baby who will likely be our last (unless my tubal fails), I'm going to be homeschooling Elizabeth in the fall - I need to be able to focus on and enjoy these things (and remember, my word for 2008 is focus).

I talked with my brother-in-law and am going back to work for him full-time - mostly from home, but will be going into the office at least two late afternoons a week. Since Brad gets home relatively early in the afternoons now, I will be able to be in the office during business hours - which was something Chris wanted. Beyond that, my hours with him are totally flexible. I will feel much less pressure to deal with work while I'm teaching Elizabeth. I won't worry "Is someone getting the short end of the stick?" (most importantly my daughter as I try to teach her). This was definitely an answer to lots of prayer! I approached Chris on a Thursday and he called me on Friday, "Absolutely. Here's what I'd like..." and it was a perfect fit. And the good thing - we'll have dental insurance which the state cut out for their employees (Brad carries our insurance). Um, hello? We *need* dental insurance! (I don't think I ever blogged about the $3,000 worth of dental work Elizabeth had to have on her BABY TEETH - every last bit of it will fall out by the time she's 12). I'm looking forward to this change and hope that it will also help with the post-partum depression that usually causes me to crash around four months after I have a baby.

Now, Mommy moment -- Annie's vocabulary has suddenly exploded and she is becoming easier for me to understand. Of course, I have to interpret her for others and there's still a lot she says that I haven't quite caught onto yet - but we're getting there! My favorite is "Wekin" -- yes, my two-year-old can say "Webkinz" and knows the link in my link bar on my browser. My other favorite is "Woggy" - Annie loves frogs. For Easter, she got a Webkinz Tree Frog in her Easter basket; she loves it and giggles every time she sets it down then finds it again. And look at how stinking cute this kid is...her daddy took these photos of her and I just laugh. Our little gangsta...

Aww... look at her. My lil Allan loves his tree frog webkinz too.
And BIG HUGE CONGRATS on Harrison! I just caught up on a bunch of posts.

Good luck with the new job. I don't miss the "old company" a bit...except a few of the people of course! ;)
