Ahhhh, there's no place like "home"

Since we came home from the hospital, Harrison and I have been in the living room 24/7. I tried sleeping in my bed one night; but the catheter tubing and making certain everything was draining properly just made it too uncomfortable so we moved back to the recliner. The 48-hours I was cath-free found me in the recliner because I was in too much pain to lay down. It even got to the point that if any of my girls woke in the middle of the night, they knew to come to the family room if they wanted me. Annie quickly learned that it meant she would also be able to snuggle with her daddy all by herself if she woke before her sisters - and so she'd get out of bed at 5:45 every morning.

As of yesterday, though, I'm finally catheter-free. Harrison and I got to move to my bedroom last night and sleep in our own bed! It was a long, hard 20 days and I'm glad they're over. I can return to the normalcy of life, taking care of my home and family. I have a ton of ironing to do and put away - I plan on tackling that this weekend. I also need to find some closet and dresser drawer space for Harrison. And my big girls' PJ drawer is a disaster thanks to a baby sister who loves to dig through their PJs and wear them (a barely-size 2 in size 4 or 5 - a hoot).

Another bit of good news from yesterday - I'm now 13 pounds below my pre-pregnancy weight. Yahoo! Let's hope I can keep it off after I wean this little guy. I'm one of those moms who gains weight when she weans rather than loses the "last little bit" like many women do.

Yesterday ended up being a pretty good day.

Hey girl, I am so glad you are catheter free! UG! It must have been a long 20 days! I am so sorry! I hope you are able to still sit in that recliner and hold that cute little one! He is adorable and you can tell he is an Eggebrecht! And what a strong name! Gina, I can't believe it has been 20 days! I am praying for you and your family, girl. Hang in there!
