One day Elizabeth wanted to write her name for her Daddy. I wrote it out for her, then made "dashes" for her to trace (which you can see she did not do). She decided to write it herself. She can't quite get the lowercase 'e' and so leaves it out. Her uppercase 'E' has four legs. She has to see her full name in order to be able to write it - she's still learning how to spell it. If she doesn't see her name written somewhere then all she manages to write are "Eli" My baby girl is growing up and writing is just another step in the journey. I can't believe it! Oh, I enrolled her for five-day-a-week pre-K next year and Nin for the MWF class. I'm going to have two kids in preschool!
The big girls went outside to play in the snow today. This was at 10:30a.m. If we'd waited for me to finish work at noon, it would've been all gone. I'm glad I could send them into the backyard to play! Elizabeth wanted to show off her "snowball". She was so cute this morning when she woke. She was my late-riser today, not getting up until 8:45 (I didn't take her to school - road conditions were too bad!). She came to the family room so I could give her a hug and a kiss, then she went to her room to look out her window. I heard her squealing with delight and she came running to the front of the house, "Mommy! The snow! The SNOW! Let's go outside! I'll get dressed right now!" Such the snow-lover like her Daddy. I managed to put her off until 10 when I realized the sun was quickly melting what precious bit of snow we had. I tossed them into their snow-wear and sent them into the backyard. I'm sure the neighborhood appreciated the extra heat from my door being open. And the CEO of Entergy is going to get a big ol' bonus thanks to me, too.
And then there was Nin...As you can see, the snow is really beginning to melt as you can see the
Speaking of funny, here is my little mountain goat apparently doing an Elvis impersonation with those PJs unbuttoned like they are. Goofy little nut. No, she's not that tall - she is STANDING ON THE STEP-STOOL. It's one of those little blue step-stools that you buy at Wal-Mart and put in the bathroom so your 2½ year-old can stand at the counter and brush her teeth that somehow ended up in my kitchen (Katherine Martin!) Of course, Annie spied it, pulled it out from under the chopping block and climbed on it. Laughing the entire time. :::sigh::: I love my girls and am so blessed to have them! We had a fun day today. Elizabeth skunked us in "Hip-Hop Cherrio", Daddy finished first in "Candyland" which prompted dancing from both of them. We told knock-knock jokes -- E loves it when I do the banana....banana....banana....orange you glad I didn't say banana? one. She laughs like crazy. And then she tries to tell them. Little kids trying to tell knock-knock jokes... Knock-Knock. Who's there? Nose. Nose who? The nose on my face, Mommy! I don't know about you, but that's funny right there.

What a sweet post. I love mommy brags. And, yep, that's how knock-knock jokes go in our house too. The height of preschooler humor. :)

Big applause to E for the beautiful handwriting. That's one heck of a long name to learn! God help her when she gets to the last name... ;)
