On Duty without doing any research

One of the local TV stations did 48-hours "On Duty: The Resident Physicians of UAMS" - following around the residents in the OB/GYN program at UAMS. My OB (faculty, not a resident) was interviewed and shown a couple of times over the past 48 hours. On Tuesday night they identified him incorrectly by name as one of the residents (poor editing). Just checked the KATV website and his name is spelled incorrectly in the written version of the report. Here's the deal KATV -- it's called GOOGLE (just ask whoever is googling me) Even better? UAMS' own website. Or look at his badge while you're standing there interviewing him! [no link available for that, obviously] I realize that his killer biceps can be a bit distracting but get over it. Why, yes. I did just suggest that someone at KATV do some research. Paul Wendel is one of the most respected Maternal-Fetal Medicine specialists in the region, if not in the country -- and you can't spell his name correctly? Give me a break. W-e-n-d-e-l not that difficult.

Speaking of Paul - my middle child adores him *almost* as much as she does her daddy. I tell him all the time that I think he slipped my kids something when they were born. Elizabeth and Katherine ask about him at least once a month and want to know when they can go see him (obviously someone in this house has been pregnant an awful lot for the kids to think every month requires a visit to the OB/GYN's office). Last week after we picked-up Elizabeth from preschool Katherine asked, "Mommy, can we go we go see Dr. Wendel? I need to tell him that I love him." No, Nin, we can't. He's at work. She thought for a minute and then said, "Can I send him a message?" Yes, you certainly can ('a message' = an email). We came home and had gotten busy doing other things I'd completely forgotten about it until the special on KATV - which sent her into squeals when she saw him on TV. We sent Dr. Wendel a message about how much Katherine "yubs" him. I told her that since she loves him, she's more than welcome to take my place at an appointment with him in a couple of weeks. Paul wasn't going for that. Figures. Ugh, I just realized - I'm 41, family history of breast cancer and I've gotten out of every mammogram for the past five years due to pregnancy and breast-feeding. No such luck this year unless something happens in the next few weeks. Ugh!!!

There's Nin. Poor bug. It's midnight and she woke up because she needed to potty. Sweet to see her coming up the hall like this - holding her Taggie and Baby Doll, with her thumb in her mouth. Perhaps I can convince her to come snuggle with me and her daddy in the warm flannel sheets of our bed oh, wait, this is the kid who kicks off the covers all. night. long. I think she should go back to her own bed, snuggle down and go back to sleep.

That's just bad! Doing a show on someone and getting his NAME (of all easy things) wrong!
So cute how your girls love the doctor though ;)

Aww, so sweet that they love the doctor so much. Sounds like a great guy. Too bad they messed up his name. You'd think that would be easy enough to check.
