1. What is your favorite Easter tradition? Many years ago, our church started having a Good Friday service. Because of the ages of our children, it has been difficult for me to attend for the past few years (needed to be home to put little Eggs to bed); but I still love the service. It always emphasizes the pain felt by the apostles and followers of Jesus during and following His death. Because, without understanding the pain of Good Friday, we can’t adequately celebrate the JOY of the Resurrection. I love the way that service prepares my heart for Easter Sunday!
2. Are you a “shower” or a “long, hot bath” kind of person? Thanks to warm urticaria, I am no longer a “long, hot bath” kind of person. And I miss long, hot baths. Of course, thanks to The Shoe, I don’t have time to be a long, hot bath kind of girl! I used to love to get in the tub with a cup of ice water or a glass of red wine and one of my favorite magazines (I loved the day Southern Living came in the mail!). But, no more. Now, I’m a “quick, warm-but-not-too-hot” shower kind of girl. And that’s okay.
3. Can you parallel park and if so when is the last time you did it? Yes, I can parallel park. Learned to do that when I was 12 years old and learning to drive in Beaver Crossing, NE while on vacation visiting my grandmother who lived in the middle of billions of acres of corn (my step-grandfather was a corn farmer). I parallel park every month or so when I go downtown to my husband’s office or into the Heights to get a cupcake.
4. What is your favorite Easter candy? Hand’s down, Cadbury Caramel Eggs. They are super rich and I can’t eat all of one in one sitting – which is a good thing. Chocolate. Caramel. It’s a win-win!
5. Easter: do you go all out with the Easter Bunny or focus on the religious part of the holiday? The “Easter Bunny” leaves baskets for my kids – but just like the Tooth Fairy and Santa, my kids know the truth about these mythological beings. For us, the true focus of Easter is the Great News of the Gospel…that He who knew no sin, was made to be sin on our behalf, so that we might become the righteousness of God in Him. (2 Cor 5:21) HE IS RISEN! Hallelujah! What a Savior.

The caramel eggs are quite yummy! My problem is, I do eat it all in one sitting and then feel sick. You think I would learn my lesson, but I apparently never do!
Claire and I have pressure urticaria, but I take a daily antihistamine and don't have problems with it anymore. I can't imagine having warm urticaria and living in the south!
