Cookies, More on Marshmallows and The Schedule

I've blogged on A Half Dozen Eggs about some wonderful buttermilk cookies I made the other night. Brad even called me from the office to tell me how good they were - that means they must have been REALLY good! I highly recommend them.

My friend, Jennifer, made the homemade marshmallows and it killed her hand mixer. My mixer was fine (hand mixer) but the marshmallow creme crawled up Jennifer's beaters and took out her mixer's motor. So, um...watch out if you use your hand mixer!

Now, for The Schedule (had to redo my blog template for it to fit)...if you see something missing - let me know! This is a work in progress and will likely change several times before I get it to the point that I can have it laminated. :) I asked Kim "what do I do on the 'fifth week' of the month?" Example, this month has five Tuesdays. I do "monthly jobs" on Tuesdays - so, do I throw something extra in there? Do one of my "things I want to clean and organize before I die" jobs? Iron the sheets that day? Those are just "extra" days - take a break from monthly jobs that week or do something extra. I realized that this month, VBS falls during that week so I'll be doing good just to get my daily stuff done - no extras. And no sheet ironing.

Aww I missed powerwashing. Call me when you need it done and I will come and do it. Nothing like some zen-washing ;)

Off to check out the cookies!

Well, I did burn up my old mixer, but I got a new mixer out of the deal! And since I only got to beat them for 8 minutes (instead of 12), I was worried they wouldn't turn out right. I am happy to report, though, that the marshmallow experiment was a success! They turned out yummy and very marshmallow-y. :)

I used them on the birthday cake, too, and it wasn't too bad. Cutting marshmallows, though, is kind of like nailing jell-o to the wall. It's not easy! I'll be posting pictures soon.

That's quite a schedule! My mom had a schedule like that while I was growing up - well, not that full but I wish I could organize something for my disaster of a house!

Hey I love the template. I like your schedule as well. A lot of online homeschool sites have "Homeschool Planners" that include household schedules too.

Wow! The only thing I don't see is turning the mattresses, but you might have mattresses that don't have to be turned, flipped, etc every few months.

BTW, I live in a nasty pit of filth compared to you. There is stuff on your daily list that would be on my every other week list if I had a list....

So cool to get it all planned out like this. It must seem less overwhelming.

Love your template on your header. I was trying to figure out how to do that. Do you have to have special software to open it after you download the elements? And your schedule is very motivating. I'm the same way, before I had kids I liked to clean my whole house at once, but now that's impossible.

Please tell me that ironing sheets is a joke!! Your schedule puts me to shame....and I only have one kid at home. I might have to stop reading your blog if I'm gonna be convicted when I come here :D

I got a good chuckle out of the other comments here.

I need to create a schedule.

I used to just do things, naturally, everything was clean, organized, understood....

Then 2000 came along and I got married and, well, I don't know, I got lazy I guess....

Now with 4 kids I'm just overwhelmed getting up in the morning....maybe I can write out a schedule and become organized again and be a good role model for my kids....

Sigh....

Your comment in my blog made me cry a bit this morning....

I was thinking, sending Asher off to school, no one loves him like me. To me he is special, to the school teacher he is just a number....

It is day 3 and I'm having a tough time with Asher away....the kitchen turned into a pit the very first day, but I have been very fortunate that hubby stepped up and has cleaned it up 2 nights in a row. I'm convinced I can do it today and not fall apart....

I used to dream about home schooling, but there is no way I could do it with Asher. I know I could with Alexa. I don't think I could with Aubree. Andrew, too early to tell. I admire you!

Thanks for stopping in at my blog. You always make me feel good.

Hugs,
Steph
