Project 52: weeks 4,5,and 6 - plus, a SNOW day

Week 4 - January 17 - 23, 2010

Almost all of the girls in our family gathered at my Uncle and Aunt's house so Aunt Donna could teach us how to make her chicken 'n dumplin's.

Week 5, January 24 - 30, 2010

We got sleet, freezing rain and a little bit of snow on Friday, January 29.  The girls had a great time "sledding" down the hill on our street using a cardboard box. They also got to sled some with our neighbor, who has a *real* sled and they loved that!

Week 6 - January 31 - February 6, 2010
Because the roads were so icy, we did not go to church on Sunday morning.  While Brad read the paper, Annie climbed onto the sofa beside him and asked for the comics so she could "read' them.

Now, changing gears a little bit - a couple of more photos...one of which I'm pretty sure will be our photo for this week...

I was watching the weather last night and the meteorologist were predicting lots of snowfall in north Arkansas "with just a dusting" in Central Arkansas.  One local weatherman said, "there is one computer model that is showing this winter weather drifting further south, but I'm not sure it will.  It is a possibility, though."  Another  local TV weatherman (no specific names or station call letters, but you can read his bio HERE) said, "This winter weather will be NO BIG DEAL for Central Arkansas."  So, take what Todd said and put it with what Ed said and I thought, "We are going to get slammed."  And we did.  At this point, we've seen about 5 or 6 inches of snow in Little Rock.  By mid-day we had huge, fat, wonderful wet flakes falling.  So much fun!

Nin tries to catch snowflakes on her tongue. She squealed when she did...and with as heavily as the snow was falling, it didn't take long!

Okay, someone seriously needs to teach these children how to make snow angels, because this ain't it!  How funny are they?!
