My...what a difference two years makes!
2008
2010
I remember my friend Rebecca saying she couldn't wait for me to have a son. I also remember her saying once that the only way to describe how she felt about her own son was that she had a "crush" on him. I had several other mothers confirm that, yes, they felt that way about their sons, too. And literally the second I laid eyes on him...I *got* it. I understood. I also finally understood the way my husband feels about our daughters. It's wild, the way I love this boy. It's not that I love him any more than I do my girls - but it's different.
I love how he calls me Ma when he really wants my attention. I love how he calls Elizabeth "Sister." I love how he loves his pillow (Ba) and his Harrison blanket (Kee). I love how he loves to snuggle. I love how much he adores his sisters.
At two, his favorite things are: his pillow and blanket, chocolate milk (actually, chocolate anything), my high heels, Dora, the remote, being outside, and classic rock music. He hates being cold, getting his clothes wet, wearing a diaper, when things don't go his way (yeah, he's every bit of two!). He has a temper, that I'm sure God is going to use in my life and his as I try to teach him to rein it in...to control his emotions rather than be controlled by them.
I am so very, very thankful that God gave us this sweet, perfect finale to our family. He is THE perfect addition and just the bit of testosterone we needed! Happy birthday, to my sweet baby guy!
