Here are photos from my birthday. I did the cake. Annie got into it while it was cooling, so the top layer was actually only 2/3 of a layer. Brad almost had a coronary over that but, eh, not a big deal to me. Elizabeth wanted me to decorate it with our family (that means draw stick figures). I could've done a much better job but I was trying to get it done so we could get to my sister's and I wanted it to be simple and child-like since it's what E wanted for my cake.
When I opened my gifts, Annie decided she'd help her self to what she wanted...first it was my tank top from my sister and her family...
Then it was the copy of Ariel's Beginning that my mom bought me. Oh, wait, my mom bought it for Annie but put it in my birthday bag (she told me she'd gotten it for Bitsy - Annie has been asking for "my Adedul moobee" [my Ariel movie] and far be it from Boop to say no to Annie!). You think she's a little excited about it?
And here are the Half-Dozen Eggs at my sister's house. We couldn't get a family picture without Annie's hands in her mouth. Nin has that silly little look on her face that makes me giggle.
Nin started pre-K on Tuesday. Since Gustav was camped out over Arkansas, we didn't get to do our photo by the gardenia bush in the front of the house - we had to settle for by the fireplace. I was going to take a picture of her by her classroom door at school but didn't grab the camera - I chose the umbrella instead (it was *pouring* down rain - we got almost three inches that day). So, here's Nin on a thanks-to-Hurricane-Gustav-bad-hair-first-day-of-school (actually, I think it was a tropical depression by the time it got to us - but still - you can't do squat with your hair in weather like that)...
Harrison has recently started the commando crawl. BabyGuy can get around! Wednesday night he decided that the underside of his Exersaucer would be a fun place to crawl - and check out the teething drooler!
And finally - one of my favorite pictures... On Thursday afternoon I was trying to get dinner ready and Harrison was being very fussy. Elizabeth had him and was walking around the family room with him. Finally, he calmed down. This was why - how sweet is this?
Is she a pro or what?! One of my favorite memories of Harrison's first weeks was when he was eight days old - Elizabeth was curled up in the middle of my bed with her baby brother snuggled into her, sound asleep. She looked so content. I wish I'd taken a picture of it and I hope I never forget it.
That's all for this week. Thanks for indulging me!
