Lots going on

Elizabeth and Katherine are now officially sharing a room and are in a "big girl bed." I've had a few people ask me "How long are you planning on them sharing?" in this very judgemental tone and it bugs the crap out of me. They'll share until they don't any more. My sister and I shared a room for 14 years and...newsflash...we're both fine. Why do people seem to think children don't need to share rooms? My plan is for Elizabeth and Nin to share a room until Annie is old enough to be in a big girl bed. At that point, if we're still in a 3-bedroom house, then we'll rotate. Every 4 to 6 months, one of the girls will be in a room alone and the other two will share. A friend of ours did this with her girls and it worked out well. When I would babysit them, though, all three of them would sleep in the same room. The sister in the private room would grab her slumber bag and crash on the floor in her other sisters' room. Kim said that was the rule more than the exception.

After we purchased the mattress set, Brad took Nin and went to run a few errands. Elizabeth and I went to BBBY and bought sheets. I had thought we'd get a set of pale pink and a set of white - all cotton, 300 thread-count (at least). Elizabeth had other ideas. We ended up with 60/40 blend sheets (despite my best efforts to at least steer her toward 100% cotton, even in the same colors!) in Tangerine and Calypso Pink. And you know what? They look great with the bedding and both of the girls love them. That's what matters.

I also got a Dyson. Oh my gosh. I love it. It sucks like a vacuum should. I'm amazed! I was going back and forth between Dyson and Oreck. Then I thought about how many times I've heard my sister say her Oreck was in the shop and I read a ton of on-line reviews which confirmed what my sister dealt with. I decided to go with the Dyson. Same price as the Oreck but more reliable. Plus, I had a 20% off coupon for BBBY - saved me $80.

Just finished The DaVinci Code this afternoon. More on that in another blog post, this one is already too long.

I'm going to be taking a business trip to New York and as a result will get to meet my dear friend, Rebecca. After four years of being the 21st-century equivilent of pen pals, I'm going to get to meet her - live and in the flesh. I'm thrilled, absolutely thrilled. But I'm now in a quandry...(Rebecca, cover your eyes) what do I take as a hostess gift? A bottle of wine is always appropriate but is it too cliche? Comments always welcome!

I so get that too my dear. My boys...4 and 2 cannottttttt sleep alone at this point. We have tried everything under the sun. So I ended up with one or both of them in my bed while dh slept in the other or on the couch. Now..both in the same room...seems to work good....and I have a gym out of the old non used room (was to hot in the summer and too cold in the winter...plus neither boy liked it). My take...get a life f you have time to judge me, lol. I can't remember if I brushed my teeth this morning. ahhahahahah.

How was your trip???? How fun....hope you brought the wine. If you ever meet up with me...we better have some, teehee.
