Paper Chains

I've been asked repeatedly, "How many more weeks/days until Harrison gets here?" So, taking a cue from my playgroup and another mom and five-year-old who are currently in a countdown for something else, I decided we'd do paper chains. And I have a ton of scrapbook paper that will never get used otherwise. Elizabeth chose pink, brown and green paper. Nin chose the blue, brown and green. They are having a lot of fun tearing a strip off the chain each day.

We went to the cross-stitch store today for Brad to choose something "big" to stitch. He ended up getting Easter Bouquet by Cedar Hill designs. He's going to stitch it for Annie's Sunday School teachers - who were also Elizabeth's and Nin's Sunday School teachers. They have taught the Toddler I Sunday School class for years. I've already told Teresa that if they stop - it's only a break until Harrison moves in there - and they have to go back while he's in the class. ;) The other night at the dinner table, Annie started singing something, I couldn't tell what until I watched her. She was doing all the motions to "Zaccheus Was a Wee Little Man" and it was so cute!! She was having a blast, especially when the big girls joined her. I often forget that she's old enough for us to do those kinds of things so we're going to be singing more.

How fun :) I love the paper chain idea! I have not heard Zaccheus since I was teaching preschool! Oh, the kids Looooved singing that song :) I'll have to teach it my kids now.

Elizabeth's party looks like lots of fun too!

Isn't it sad how the younger kids kind of get jipped when it comes to doing the small kid kind of stuff?! Grant was two years old asking for "steven curtis chapman" instead of the little kid cds! It is just one of those things......when you have older kids.

So how many days do you have? Have a good Monday. I am so glad I was able to actually see you yesterday! I never see you!

We were sad we had to move before Jane got to go to Ms. Teresa and Mr. Mark's class. When we visited BCLR over Christmas, Jane was in their class. It brought back fond memories of them being Jewel's teacher.

I love the paper chain idea...I had read somewhere that that is good to do when you go to China if you leave small children behind...everyday they can take a chain off and know when mommy and daddy will be home. (It is a 2 week trip!)

We loved their class, too! What a sweet thing to do for them!

I know your girls must be getting all excited about Harrison! That is so fun!
